Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as an Assistant HR Business Partner. The successful candidate will work on employer relations case management, providing support and guidance to managers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR support and assistance to the HR Operations team
  • Offer advice and guidance to managers and staff on Council policies, terms and conditions of employment, and other HR-related issues
  • Support and coach Directorate line managers in managing people issues
  • Deal with local trade union representatives on individual cases or local collective issues
  • Screen all vacancies and identify potential redeployment opportunities for employees on the redeployment register
  • Undertake effective job evaluations, drawing on benchmarking data and ensuring a fair, consistent, and objective assessment
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience managing restructures, complex casework, and TUPE is essential
  • Experience of dealing with customer complaints, including verbal and written responses, is essential
  • Experience of working in a HR department in a customer-focused organization, proactively facilitating and leading change, is essential
  • CIPD qualified or working towards this with experience of working effectively in a complex organization is essential
Additional Information

This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to be in the office every Wednesday and available to attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. The role involves working 37 hours per week, with flexibility to be onsite as and when required for face-to-face meetings.
