Pharmacy Technician Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee. The Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & Department of Labor provides an entry point for individuals looking to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians and maintain the high level of skill required in the pharmacy care industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and providing patient care.
  • Operate pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems and cash registers.
  • Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and medication orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and medication dispensing.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
