We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our team at Beaverbrooks The Jewellers.

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Management Accountant, being involved in the completion, preparation, and review of management accounts. This will include the month end working papers, prepayments, accruals, and journey entries.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Support the Management Accountant with regulatory oversight for the company; including implementing and maintenance of KPI's for the various different regulatory bodies (to include; SAO, AEO, CCO, customs duty and freight, Modern Slavery Act, FCA, money laundering, pensions).
  • Accurate recording of assets within the Fixed Asset Register, calculation and recording of depreciation and completion of capital allowances working papers.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning, analysis, detail accuracy, and working to deadlines. They will also have excellent accounting software use with a pro-active attitude to finding system solutions to processing and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Completion, preparation, and review of management accounts.
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Supporting the Management Accountant with regulatory oversight for the company;
  • Accurate recording of assets within the Fixed Asset Register;
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting including PSA, ONS, VAT, and internal reporting to support departments across the company;
  • Assisting with year-end statutory accounts preparation and audit.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field;
  • Advanced Excel skills - Vlookups and pivot tables essential;
  • Experience of Navision software;
  • Ability to maintain privacy of confidential data;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
