About the Role

We are seeking two exceptional individuals to join our team as Assistant Professors in Statistics or Applied Probability. As a member of our Statistics and Probability Section, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and undertake original research of international excellence.

Our School of Mathematical Sciences is renowned for its research environment, with 98% of our research being classed as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'. You will be part of a highly research-active team with a strong track record of publishing research work of international quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake original research and develop research proposals to attract funding from Research Councils and other sources;
  • Contribute to the dissemination of research outputs at national/international conferences and workshops;
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including via distance learning;
  • Provide curriculum development within your own area of expertise and collaborate with colleagues to design and develop courses and/or programmes.
Requirements
  • A PhD, or equivalent, in Statistics, Applied Probability, or a related field;
  • A proven track-record in publishing research work of international quality in statistics, applied probability, or a related field;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Good pedagogical skills to teach a range of statistics/probability modules.
