About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our Property and Casualty team at Aviva. As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a key role in underwriting decisions, building strong relationships with brokers, and ensuring accurate and timely quotes are issued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new business, mid-term adjustments, and renewals, ensuring swift service for our brokers
  • Seek referrals to ensure sound underwriting decisions on complex cases
  • Interact with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely quotes are issued in line with broker expectations
  • Perform controls to ensure the underwriting risk always stays within tolerance
  • Identify and implement service, process, and customer journey improvements
Requirements
  • Previous Property, Casualty, and Construction underwriting experience
  • Knowledge of insurance products, features, and processes
  • Enthusiasm, good attention to detail, and comfort speaking to a wide range of brokers
  • Customer-focused, planning, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Risk awareness and knowledge of complaints process, breach procedures, GDPR, and other impacting legislation
