About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Barista and Hospitality Teacher to join our team at Her Majesty's Young Offenders Institute (HMYOI) Feltham. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for delivering accredited learning to young people undertaking Barista and Hospitality study programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rated level, developing young people-centred teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
  • Develop and deliver learning plans that contribute to increased retention, achievement, and progression of the young people we support.
  • Follow all processes relating to qualifications and examinations, including registration and submissions to validating bodies.
  • Understand and comply with Shaw Trust's Safeguarding Policy and related procedures, taking action as appropriate in relation to children and vulnerable groups.
Requirements
  • Occupationally competent in the Barista and Hospitality sector.
  • Possession of a relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE).
  • Possession of A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent).
  • Experience of teaching on and assessing accredited Barista and Hospitality vocational qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering learning to a 'Good' or 'outstanding' Ofsted level.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent administration skills.
