BioTalent is partnering with a leading Biotech company to fill the role of Head/VP of Chemistry. This is a unique opportunity to lead the chemistry department and drive the strategy for a pipeline of small molecule projects targeting proteins.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the chemistry department and drive the strategy for a unique pipeline of small molecule projects targeting proteins.
  • Build and maintain a highly collaborative, motivating, and success-driven environment, operating with a high degree of creativity and flexibility.
  • Define and execute hiring and staffing plans, onboarding and training new hires, and provide leadership to advance first-in-class projects.
  • Prepare for internal and external presentations of scientific progress, strategies, plans, resources, assumptions, risks, and data that support conclusions.
  • Work closely with biology and other scientific leaders to ensure overall program success and align with the executive team on corporate goals.
  • Select and manage CROs for chemistry support.
  • Prepare for presentations at Board Meetings, investor calls, and Business Development meetings.
  • Define and execute IP strategy in the context of small molecule filings, working with the CSO, COO, CBO, CEO, and external legal team.

**Requirements**

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in small molecule drug discovery in a similar level (Director/Head/VP) in a Biotech/Pharma industry.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams of scientists.
