Electronic Bed Management System Implementation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to support the successful implementation of an electronic bed management system across our acute hospital sites.

This is an exciting programme that will help our staff manage patient flow and ensure our patients receive the right care, first time, using a new command centre.

You will need a background in operations and experience of transformation to excel in this role.

Main Responsibilities

To support the implementation of the new Electronic Bed Management System across Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

  1. Act as a key liaison between clinical and non-clinical staff in respect to the development and implementation.
  2. Undertake regular engagement sessions within the clinical areas across the service to support the implementation of new system/process.
  3. Support the Programme Manager and external partner (Oracle Health) to prepare, implement and evaluate transition plans, testing and rehearsal schedules during implementation, upgrade & enhancement.
  4. Support the workforce to use the system, maximising quality and efficiency, ensuring staff are aware and promote the adoption of IT enabled ways of working.

Job Requirements
  1. Work collaboratively with clinical & operational teams, and non-medical clinical users of the electronic system and support the planning & implementation across clinical areas (QEH and UHL).
  2. Work with the leadership teams to support the implementation of and embed best practice with respect to EBMS within the services. A primary principle for this role is to ensure that patient care is not compromised as a result of the development and implementation of the system.
  3. Have excellent communication, writing, organisational and presentation skills.
  4. Help to maintain high quality care by working with teams to ensure that accepted and established practices are maintained by clinical teams (in-patient areas), during the EBMS deployment.
  5. Support the programme team to embed the IT enabled practice in Business as Usual (BAU) processes.
  6. Provide subject matter expertise to the project.
Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent knowledge.
  • Transformation Experience.
Experience
  • Significant experience at a Band 6.
  • Transformation projects/change management.
  • Well-developed IT/digital skills - substantial knowledge of clinical change.
  • Project management skills in relation to developing training skills for specific projects.
