Fortinet's Code Security team plays a pivotal role in shipping cutting-edge security solutions that safeguard customer codebases. Leveraging static and dynamic program analysis, the technology empowers users to identify, prevent, and understand threats across various roles from developers to security engineers and executives. The newly announced Code Security offering seamlessly integrates with Fortinet's CNAPP platform, providing end-to-end security from code to cloud by combining insights from diverse points throughout the software lifecycle to offer a comprehensive view of security. We are seeking talented individuals to contribute to both the underlying analyses and platform for deploying them. This entails working with Programming Language technologies like build systems, compilers, formal methods, or static/dynamic program analysis. Prior industry experience with relevant technologies is essential, specifically focusing on programming ability and a desire to learn and collaborate with a fast-paced engineering team producing products utilized by thousands of programmers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Integrate analysis tools with engineering workflows to provide seamless code reasoning tailored to meet engineers where they work.
  2. Evaluate and enhance the efficacy and efficiency of open-source and in-house analysis tools.
  3. Engage in cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, Support, Sales teams, as well as customers.
  4. Develop functional specifications and design documents through close stakeholder collaboration.
  5. Write high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
  6. Participate in code and design reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. BSc in Computer Science or equivalent academic/industrial experience.
  2. Computer Science Fundamentals: Practical algorithms and data structures; Big-O complexity analysis; OS/Unix concepts, tools, and techniques; parallel/concurrent programming.
  3. Experience with Programming Language technologies such as build systems, compilers, formal methods, or static/dynamic program analysis.
  4. Familiarity with security attacks and defenses.
  5. Experience developing tools and software in GoLang, Rust, C/C++, or similar languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Hands-on experience with clouds (AWS, GCP, AZURE), Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code.
  2. DevOps expertise, CICD, source code management systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).

We estimate this position's annual salary range to be around $150,000 - $200,000 based on national averages and considering factors like location and experience.
