Construction Skills Trainer

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Tutor (Brickwork and Joinery) to join a team at an alternative provision school. The school supports students who have found mainstream education challenging, providing them with tailored support to thrive in a practical learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and practical brickwork lessons to small groups of students.
- Teach students the fundamental skills of construction in a supportive and encouraging manner.
- Support students with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Assist students with English and Maths where needed, providing well-rounded educational support.
- Foster a safe and positive learning environment that promotes students' confidence and skills development.
Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledgeable in brickwork and willing to share your expertise with young people.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), is desirable but not essential.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students.
- Comfortable supporting students with basic English and Maths.
- Reliable and committed to helping students succeed in both practical and academic areas.
It is essential that you are able to be confident teaching and engaging with students in order for them to achieve to the best of their ability. Building trust with the students is important to help them feel safe and comfortable in their environment.
