Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with UK legislative requirements and company policies.
  • Risk Management: Coordinate risk assessments, method statements, and control implementation and maintenance, promoting a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Talent Development: Foster a strong health and safety leadership team, including an HSE Committee and Safety Representatives, to drive a positive HSE culture.
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular health, safety, and environment audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans.
  • RIDDOR Reporting: Manage RIDDOR accident notifications and internal incident logging, maintaining accurate records and providing timely reports.
  • Safety Awareness: Develop and implement engaging safety awareness programs, driving behavioral change and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • KPI Management: Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on the health and safety management system, tracking progress and making data-driven decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing organization, with a comprehensive understanding of UK HSE legislative requirements.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum); NVQ Level 5 H&S standard or NEBOSH Diploma (preferred).
