About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Horticultural Trainer to join our team at Waythrough, a national group of charities providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling, and domestic violence.

As a Horticultural Trainer, you will play a vital role in assisting with the supervision and training of individuals with mental health issues, contributing to the development of our services, and promoting an environment of service user involvement and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the supervision and training of individuals with mental health issues
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the creation of new programs and initiatives
  • Promote an environment of service user involvement and recovery
  • Provide horticultural advice and maintain plant stock in good condition
  • Assess risk and participate in team evaluations and reviews

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to motivate and train others, including running group activities
  • Good time management skills and a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a flexible approach to work
  • Commitment to working with people with mental health problems
  • Flair for maintaining appropriate records and implementing new procedures
