About the Role
South Ayrshire Council is embarking on an exciting transformational journey to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families through relationship-based, family and community-centred care. We are committed to embedding the key messages from the Promise, UNCRC, GIRFEC, and the New Child Protection Guidance into our care for children in families in our local area.
Our Approach
We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our families and supporting children and young people to live and learn in South Ayrshire. Our approachable management culture strives to be supportive, inclusive, and child-centred, prioritising effective supervision, manageable caseloads, and promoting a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities

We offer a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the children and families social work role and responsibilities, as well as full training in the Signs of Safety and Safe and Together models. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly between home and the office, with the frequency of attending the office varying depending on the exigencies of the service.
Requirements
We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated individuals who are committed to providing a high standard of support to young people and their families. You will need to have a sound value base, excellent communication and report writing skills, and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the children and families social work role and responsibilities.
