We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient transport services to our community, ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Transport patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
- Assist patients with lifting, securing, and helping them in and out of the ambulance, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends, providing effective communication and support.
- Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centers/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
- Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar, both in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights.
- Assist service users with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses, demonstrating a calm and considerate approach.
- Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean, and tidy, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Commitment to patient care and a passion for delivering high-quality services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of communicating with others in emotional circumstances.
- A calm, considerate, and careful driver, with no more than three penalty points on your license.
- A natural flair for team working and collaboration, with a commitment to working flexibly.
- Physical fitness for patient handling and moving, with the ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
- Pass an Enhanced DBS check, funded by the company.
- Familiarity with the local and surrounding area, with a good understanding of the community we serve.
