About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and transportation services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities
  • Assist patients with lifting, securing, and helping them in and out of the ambulance
  • Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends through effective communication
  • Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centers/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar both in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights
  • Assist service users with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses
  • Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean, and tidy
Requirements
  • Committed to patient care
  • Effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in emotional circumstances
  • Calm, considerate, and careful driver with no more than three penalty points on your license
  • Natural flair for team working and collaboration
  • Physically fit for patient handling and moving
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Familiar with the local and surrounding area

Training and Development
