We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Specialist Tutor to join our team at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. As an Educational Specialist Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing education and support to adults with mental health needs in a secure setting.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver adult education courses up to accreditation level, including Functional Skills and ESOL
- Conduct specialist adult education initial and diagnostic assessments
- Liaise with education awarding bodies and process examination registrations and certificates
- Contribute to and carry out risk assessment and management plans pertaining to requirements in a secure setting
- Provide specialist adult education advice to multi-professional clinical teams
- Develop and source specialist resources to enable effective delivery of learning objectives
- Work independently and without direct supervision, with a flexible approach to learning and a commitment to social inclusion
- Degree or Diploma in Education
- Postgraduate training and a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties
- Registration to practice in the UK and a CPD portfolio containing evidence of active involvement in CPD activities
- Experience of working with adult learners, including those with mental health and learning disabilities in a secure setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain therapeutic alliances with learners who have multiple and complex needs
