Commercial Strategy Manager

The successful Commercial Director will be responsible for defining, directing, and leading a commercial strategy that balances risk to the business with opportunities for income reinvestment. This includes directing and leading the governance of the Commercial team, ensuring proper accountability for all commercial activity and developing control systems. Additionally, you will direct the performance of existing commercial business ventures, ensure contracts are fulfilled, and profit targets are delivered. The role also involves helping to define and embed a commercial approach across all levels of the hierarchy, working collaboratively with the senior management team to guide the development of professional standards, commercial contracts, and service level agreements.
Requirements
Experience working within a residential house builder, people management, project leading, building regulations, construction contracts, construction methods, and materials. A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations, a good understanding of construction contracts including JCT and NEC, and a good knowledge of construction methods and materials. You should be an inspirational leader and a strong team player, able to formulate commercial plans and ensure full engagement. Desired qualifications include being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), committed to the chosen profession by continued self-development, and a degree in Surveying, Building, or similar.
