Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Veolia Water Technologies UK. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical designs for water processing plants.
Key Responsibilities- Manage workloads to achieve design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with clients and internal design engineers to integrate mechanical elements into the overall plant design.
- Collaborate with CAD designers and other design engineers to create and evolve P+ID, General Arrangement, and detailed drawings.
- Communicate with site managers and commissioning managers during relevant project stages.
- Review supply-chain design documentation and integrate it into the wider plant design.
- Undertake Design Risk Assessment and capture the outcome.
- Develop piping and equipment layouts, and prepare and maintain schedules that define the plant design.
- Drive mechanical design processes to meet project deliverables and ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Formal education in Mechanical Engineering, with a proven track record of 7+ years of experience in the municipal or industrial wastewater sectors.
- Chartered registration (CEng) in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience of equipment and technologies used commonly within the water treatment industry.
- Able to visit customer sites to assist with performance issues and commissioning.
- Capable of specifying and coordinating work allocated to local teams and remotely between globally extended teams.
- Proficient in Autodesk mechanical modeling software and data management tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Vault.
- Able to compose mechanical specifications and equipment schedules.
- Fluent with software like Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
- High attention to detail, creative, and proactive.
- Full Driving Licence.
