About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Rheumatology to join our team at Ipswich Hospital. As a key member of our musculoskeletal team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-led services with the highest standard of care
  • Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines
  • Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate in clinical governance and contribute to the development of our department
Person Specification
  • MRCP (UK)
  • Specialist accreditation or within 6 months of attaining CCT
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Rheumatology
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
  • Ability to perform core and specialized Rheumatology procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Enquiring, critical approach to work
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a wide range of Rheumatology problems
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher degree (MD/PhD)
  • Recognized fellowship training
  • Management training and experience
