Job Overview

To contribute to the University of Glasgow's research and teaching excellence, we seek an exceptional candidate for a Lecturer position in Philosophy. This role involves undertaking research of international standard, contributing to learning and teaching, and undertaking administration and service activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Research: Develop and progress individual/joint research projects of international standard, publish research findings in leading journals, and contribute to the School's research profile.
  • Teaching: Contribute to the planning, organisation, and delivery of teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise student projects, and participate in examination and assessment processes.
  • Administration: Take on administrative or management roles within the School, engage in continuing professional development, and contribute to the effective management and administration of the College.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional and/or teaching experience.
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of knowledge in the specialist subject/discipline and of teaching methods and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding.
  • Established track record of research outputs and external research funding.
