Head of Operations Job Description

A seasoned Head of Operations is required to lead and manage the logistics department of a leading retail firm. This role calls for a combination of strategic thinking and operational delivery with a strong background in operational excellence and process development needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the logistics department, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement to delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to achieve company objectives.
  • Monitor departmental performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Drive the team towards achieving the company's vision and goals.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in operational management within the logistics distribution and supply chain sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and upskill a team.
  • Excellent strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of transport, warehousing and carrier networks.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
