English Teacher Job Description

GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join our team in Christchurch. As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students of varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver Engaging English Lessons: Develop and deliver comprehensive English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for assessments and future academic challenges.
  2. Implement Differentiated Teaching Strategies: Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom, ensuring each student has the opportunity to excel.
  3. Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
  4. Foster a Positive Classroom Environment: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for literature and language, promoting respectful behaviour among students.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Teaching certification in English. PGCE/QTS/QTLS.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Effective classroom management. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Passion for teaching and inspiring students.
