About this Opportunity:

Hunter Selection is looking for an exceptional Chief Electronics Engineer to lead our team in designing innovative autopilot systems and steering control solutions for vessels. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions that meet the highest industry standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure effective knowledge transfer among team members and customers.
  2. Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and coaching to junior engineers to enhance their skills and expertise.
  3. Lead the design and development of autopilot and steering control systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  5. Design and prototype new products, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  6. Develop and implement test equipment to validate design concepts and ensure quality.
  7. Provide expert installation support on marine vessels within the UK and overseas, ensuring seamless integration and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in digital and analogue electronics technologies, schematic design, capture, and PCB layout.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills to drive projects from conception to delivery.

Estimated Salary: £48,000 - £53,000 per annum, plus private medical cover, group life insurance, and 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
