About Us

Commercial Waste Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Waste Officer to join our Waste and Street Cleansing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for retaining and obtaining new commercial waste contracts, developing our commercial food waste service offer, and providing support and input into our new commercial waste system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retain and obtain new commercial waste contracts
  • Develop and maintain large datasets
  • Provide advice and services to existing and new customers
  • Monitor commercial waste collection performance and work with contractors to improve services
  • Lead on the delivery of a commercial food waste service to support businesses with new legislation

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and practical experience of delivering an effective commercial waste service
  • Knowledge of local authority commercial waste and recycling services, procedures, and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of effective engagement with businesses, property managers, small businesses, and other stakeholders
  • A full clean UK driving licence and/or ability to travel to sites borough-wide on a regular basis
