About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to work at an SEN Secondary School in Leicester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English, Science, or Maths and a Higher Level TA qualification or experience in tutoring/coaching groups of children and young people.

The role involves working 1:1 with children who have challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, aggression, SEMH, LAC, CSE/CSA, and those at risk of harm to themselves or others, as well as individuals with attachment difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher with planning, assessments, and marking.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons independently during the class teacher's absence.
  • Ensure the children are always in a safe learning environment.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group booster sessions within and out of the classroom.
  • Cover PPA periods.
  • Be creative with wall and classroom displays.
  • Deliver behaviour, numeracy, literacy, and social interventions.

Requirements:

  • A valid right to work document.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service.
  • Two proofs of address.
  • An Overseas Criminal Clearance if applicable.
  • Relevant qualifications, training, and/or experience.
  • A full driver's license and access to a car (desired but not necessary).
