Research Fellow in Urban Data Science

To contribute significantly to the growth of the Geospatial Data Science Group, this research fellow will collaborate with Professor Ana Basiri and the team to extract insights from geospatial data using various methods and models.
This role will have the opportunity to work on new research projects, including 'Missing Data as Useful Data'.
The successful candidate will contribute to the formulation and delivery of world-leading research, developing their career and team through high-impact outputs, research proposals, supervision of students, and conference organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Quantify the implications of city design based on place-based approaches for underrepresented groups.
- Develop a mathematical framework for visualizing city design for 'average' residents.
- Collaborate with the Geospatial Data Science team and project partners to develop inclusive technologies.
- Plan and conduct research individually or jointly.
- Develop a research profile and reputation for the University of Glasgow and the research team.
- Present work at international and national conferences.
- Support FAIR principles in geospatial data science.
- Lead and contribute to team meetings, seminars, and workshops.
- Supervise students and project team members.
- Engage in personal and professional development.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of quantitative data analysis, statistics, and urban analytics.
- Experience in programming languages like Python or R.
