Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Registered Nurses in the evaluation of patient care and completion of patient documentation.
  • Involve Patients and Carers in the delivery of care, ensuring their needs are met and they receive the best possible support.
  • Work Collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Recognize and Respond to urgent and emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Undertake Escort Duties as directed by a registered nurse, ensuring patients receive safe and timely transportation.
  • Contribute to Policy Development, maintaining health, safety, and security standards, and reporting any concerns.
  • Ensure Compliance with policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Support the Housekeeping Team with duties as required, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain Accurate Records, utilizing information services such as Meditech and other systems, to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • Contribute to Departmental Research, supporting the development of new treatments and care pathways.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to Work Independently, with a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Basic IT Skills, with the ability to use electronic patient records and other healthcare systems.
