We are seeking an experienced and innovative nurse leader to join our Critical Care Department as a Lead Nurse Education and Development Specialist. This exciting opportunity has arisen within the Critical Care Outreach Team, led by the Critical Care Matrons, and is suitable for an individual with a keen interest and background in Critical Care Outreach and cardiothoracic services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead clinical operations, manage, and oversee all aspects of the Critical Care Outreach Teams' (CCOT) nursing and educational activities.
- Ensure patient and caregiver perspectives inform service development.
- Oversee policies, procedures, and practices concerning deteriorating patients, the acutely ill, Sepsis, NEWS scoring, and Martha's Law.
- Participate in and contribute to trust-wide meetings and the advancement of new initiatives related to these areas.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the CCOT and other personnel under your supervision.
- Ensure a clean and comfortable patient environment, taking proactive action if domestic, catering, or other related contract requirements are not met.
- Ensure staff adherence to infection control policies.
- Champion and translate current trends and developments in nursing and the NHS into practice.
- Support nursing staff in advancing clinical practice through research and evidence-based practice.
- Maintain audit and quality monitoring systems for effective care delivery.
- Investigate complaints, accident reports, and untoward incidents within your teams, implementing action recommendations in line with the Trust's Clinical Governance framework and Directorate Quality Board.

Person Specification- RN Level 1 (Degree in nursing related subject) or equivalent experience.
- Physical Assessment course.
- Evidence of specialist higher education including short courses at Master's level or equivalent experience.
- ALS/CALS provider.
- MSc in relevant subject.
- ALS/CALS instructor.
- Post registration specialist experience at Band 7 or above.
- Experience in managing staff.
- Specialist knowledge of Critical Care patients and working within the CCOT.
- Leadership skills.
