About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax laws in the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits on businesses to determine compliance with Virginia state tax laws
  • Review taxpayer and business records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and implement audits and assessments to ensure tax laws are followed
  • Communicate with taxpayers to educate them on tax laws and ensure compliance
  • Collect and remit payments to the Commonwealth of Virginia
Requirements
  • Accounting and/or auditing experience in a professional work environment
  • Ability to proficiently use a windows-based computer to create, compile, manipulate, transmit, and analyze electronic data
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to travel during the day and occasionally overnight
  • Safe and private work area/room/office at home with high-speed Internet service
