About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Orthodontics to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our orthodontic department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist orthodontic care to patients across our hospital sites, working closely with Maxillofacial colleagues and laboratory staff.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, including orthodontic trainees and therapists, to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our orthodontic services, including the design and implementation of new treatment protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including the supervision of undergraduate students and the delivery of educational programs.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant Specialty Qualification
  • Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of offer
  • MD, PhD, or other relevant academic qualifications
  • Experience of audit and quality improvement, teaching junior staff, and undergraduate teaching
  • Effective team worker with demonstrable team leadership skills and experience of delivering organisational change
  • Publications in recognised medicine or medical education journals or presentations at national level
