About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Orthodontics to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our orthodontic service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, teaching and mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist orthodontic care to patients, including routine secondary care clinics and joint orthognathic clinics.
  • Teach and mentor junior staff, including orthodontic trainees and therapists.
  • Contribute to the development of our service, including audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, including maxillofacial and laboratory services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant specialty qualification and completion of specialty training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of offer.
  • Experience of audit and quality improvement, teaching junior staff, and undergraduate teaching.
  • Effective team worker with demonstrable team leadership skills and experience.
  • Understanding and experience of delivering organisational change.
