Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced advisor to join our busy student-facing Disability Advice Team. As a Disability Advisor, you will provide advice and guidance to students with disabilities relating to all aspects of university life and funding. This will include support to apply for Disability Support Allowance, arranging support, liaising with academic staff, and developing support/learning plans with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to students with disabilities on all aspects of university life and funding.
- Support students in applying for Disability Support Allowance and arranging necessary support.
- Liaise with academic staff to ensure students with disabilities receive the necessary support and accommodations.
- Develop and implement support/learning plans with students to ensure they have a positive university experience.
- Work collaboratively with the Disability Advice Team to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate significant experience and expertise in supporting students with disabilities. You will also need to be positive, organized, proactive, practical, and supportive. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential, as well as a working knowledge of allowances and funding available to students.
