Job Title: SENCO Lead

We are seeking a qualified SENCO staff member to join our team at Alton Community Playschool. As a SENCO Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and their families.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have experience in SEN and be able to work effectively with children, staff, and external professionals to provide high-quality support. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting SEN plans and funding applications
  • Working with core staff to support children with SEN
  • Monitoring children with SEN alongside external professionals and agencies
  • Applying for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Drafting the SEND Policy alongside the Managing Director
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in SEN or a related field
  • Experience working with children with SEN
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • DBS clearance
