Job Title: Wraparound Care Practitioner

About the Role:
George Watson's College is seeking a skilled and dedicated Wraparound Care Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of children.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging play activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of children at all times, adhering to our school's health and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and evaluate activities, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to childcare.
  • Encourage children to take ownership of their play, promoting independence and self-directed learning.
  • Support group activities, fostering a sense of community and cooperation among children.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of snacks, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training courses to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Model positive behavior, upholding the school's ethos and values.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Comply with relevant childcare and health and safety regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and national initiatives and policies related to childcare.

Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or a related field, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Register with the SSSC within six months of appointment.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Initiative and resilience.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with children of different age ranges.
  • Satisfactory level of physical fitness to engage in activities with children.
