Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team to provide outstanding care and education to all children
  • Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing daily nursery operations and managing safeguarding policies
  • Collaborate with the Nursery Manager on succession planning, training delivery, and professional development initiatives, including coaching and mentoring
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support each child's needs
  • Promote the nursery to current and prospective parents to enhance retention and occupancy
  • Ensure the nursery's financial success by managing expenditures in line with staffing and budget KPIs
  • Engage with local authorities to understand community offerings and enhance nursery practices

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Experience in an Early Years leadership role (preferably as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar)
  • Experience participating in regulatory inspections leading to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' rating
  • Confident decision-maker with a track record of supporting and leading staff effectively
  • Strong understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and relevant legislative requirements
  • Ability to build trust and foster strong relationships with colleagues and parents
  • Proficient in utilizing various communication techniques with children and adults
