About the Role
At SENDirect, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Educator to join our team as a Classroom Teacher for students with Special Educational Needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to meet the unique needs of students with special educational needs in an inclusive and supportive environment. You will work closely with support staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes both academic and social development.
Salary and Benefits
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of £37,053-£48,087 per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting students with SEND. Additionally, you will have access to excellent professional development opportunities and the chance to transition to a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of students with SEND.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff to establish a nurturing classroom environment.
- Provide targeted support to students with learning difficulties, including autism and communication challenges.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Maintain a safe and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Contribute to the school's broader initiatives aimed at enhancing student well-being and achievement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in teaching students with SEND is desirable but not essential.
- A strong understanding of SEND teaching methods.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students, parents, and staff.
- Relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
