Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
  • Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses. Perform network deployment, maintenance, and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create, update, and maintain network diagrams and documentation. Provide network performance statistics and reports. Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, Wireless, SilverPeak, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cacti).
  • Strong knowledge of network hardware (Cisco Wired and Wireless devices, SilverPeak, OpenGear). CCNP or higher (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is a must.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
