About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulation and Verification Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy UK Limited. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for designing and developing control and protection software for our HVDC transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test control and protection software for HVDC transmission systems
  • Conduct simulation studies to ensure safe and reliable operation of plants and transmission links
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and verify software components
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide customer training
  • Travel internationally for long and short assignments to support project delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Previous experience in control and protection design, with a focus on HVDC transmission systems
  • Strong programming skills and experience with EMTDC/PSCAD
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with fluency in English
  • Experience in digital technology, signal processing, and control system design is an advantage
