Facilities Maintenance Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Director to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning and maintenance of all equipment, machinery, and facilities within a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement maintenance strategies tailored to food processing facilities.
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, performance evaluations, and assigning tasks.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Establish and manage a preventative maintenance program to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and address recurring issues proactively.
- Develop maintenance procedures, checklists, and schedules according to equipment specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with production and quality departments to minimize equipment-related quality issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing and delegating tasks effectively.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs and troubleshooting activities, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory of spare parts and establish vendor relationships for efficient procurement.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FSMA.
- Implement and maintain proper sanitation and cleaning procedures for equipment and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve safety and quality-related issues.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and operations teams to implement corrective actions.
- Manage the maintenance department's budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate and recommend the purchase of new equipment or upgrades to existing machinery.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Manager in food manufacturing, preferably within a similar industry.
- Exceptional knowledge of food processing equipment, machinery, and facility maintenance.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, able to effectively manage and motivate a maintenance team.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This compensation package also includes benefits such as health insurance, retirement planning, and paid time off.
