About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Opus Recruitment Solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in a variety of programming languages and a passion for expanding their skills.

The team uses a range of technologies, including Java, Scala, Ruby, Python, ES6 with React, and C# with.NET Core, and is looking for someone who is comfortable working with these tools.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and developing cutting-edge software solutions for public sector clients, including the NHS, Ministry of Justice, and The Home Office.

They will work closely with stakeholders and customers to deliver high-quality software and rapid changes, using Agile practices such as Scrum, XP, and Kanban.

The role requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and pair program with colleagues.

Security Clearance is a requirement for this position, and the successful candidate must be a permanent citizen and resident of the UK for over 5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software solutions for public sector clients
  • Work closely with stakeholders and customers to deliver high-quality software
  • Use Agile practices to deliver rapid changes and meet customer needs
  • Pair program with colleagues to ensure high-quality code
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement best practices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software development, with a strong background in a variety of programming languages
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Security Clearance, with a permanent UK citizenship and residency for over 5 years
  • Experience with Agile practices, including Scrum, XP, and Kanban
  • Ability to pair program with colleagues and collaborate with the team
