About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer Risk Manager to join our team at Lloyds Banking Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in leading and developing our risk management strategy to ensure the effective management of IT systems risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Risk Management Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate IT systems risk.
  • Manage Risk Policy and Control Objectives: Own and manage the development of risk policy and control objectives to ensure effective risk management across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with risk and control owners, acting as a primary business partner to ensure effective risk management.
  • Develop and Implement Risk Policies: Develop and implement risk policies and appetite to enable the organization to meet regulatory and operational risk objectives.
  • Monitor and Report Risk Exposure: Establish continuous monitoring and reporting of the organization's exposure relative to risk appetite.
  • Identify and Develop Key Risk Indicators: Identify and develop key risk indicators and key performance indicators to enable appropriate monitoring.
  • Develop Effective Controls: Develop effective, ongoing data-led Operational Risk control objectives to meet the needs of risk and control owners, control specialist teams, Audit, and external regulators.
  • Support Control Owners: Support control owners and specialists to implement control measures that are designed to achieve the control objectives.
  • Lead Risk and Control Oversight: Lead the development and implementation of a risk and control oversight plan to assess compliance to relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and established controls.
  • Stay Ahead of Emerging Risks: Interpret new operational risk regulation and emerging technology opportunities and threats accurately and adeptly.
  • Drive Automation: Drive automation of risk and control measurement, monitoring, and reporting, in coordination with technology, data, and analytics teams.
  • Future-Proof Risk Management: Innovate and ensure we are future fit, building scenarios for different approaches to risk management and strategies for controls that tackle emerging and horizon risks.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Provide pragmatic advice to support informed key risk decisions and trade-offs.
Requirements
  • Deep Operational Risk Knowledge: Deep operational risk knowledge and experience in IT systems risk.
  • Proven Risk Management Skills: Proven ability to assess and manage technology risk, set policy, and manage compliance, design controls, provide assurance oversight, and challenge.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience in the domain of technology, with applied knowledge across key elements including technology asset lifecycle management, technology configuration and build management, technology service management, technology architecture and design, engineering and application development, technology resilience, networking, cloud services, and shared responsibility models.
  • Emerging Technology Awareness: Demonstrable curiosity and understanding of emerging technologies shaping the risk landscape.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep subject matter expert internally and externally with a strong depth of understanding of the latest Operational Risk frameworks and technology being used across financial and non-financial services.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Expert knowledge of relevant laws, regulation, industry standards, and established practice in technical subject areas.
  • Policy Development: Experience of developing and owning group-level policy and setting risk appetite, with expertise in continuous monitoring and reporting on group exposure.
  • Control Objectives: Able to set control objectives and set performance indicators.
  • Decision Making: Good and timely decision making that keeps the organization moving forward and skilfully balances difficult trade-offs.
  • Emerging Risk Interpretation: Ability to interpret new operational risk regulation, emerging risks, and technology innovations with forethinking to anticipate the impact of changes on the organization.
  • Risk Specialist Partnership: Acted as a Risk Specialist business partner, using strong communication skills to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others.
