About the Role

Midland Aerospace Limited is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Sutton-in-Ashfield. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products and services meet customer expectations and comply with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address customer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report on the status of NCRs, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
  • Participate in AS9100, NADCAP, and CAA Part 21G audits.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for audits.
  • Support the development and implementation of action plans to address audit findings.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and standards.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and work with relevant teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate audit records and report on audit findings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues.
  • Attend weekly/monthly customer feedback calls to discuss NCRs, quality trends, and improvement actions.
  • Provide regular reports to customers on non-conformances and the status of corrective actions.
  • Generate and maintain reports on customer non-conformances, feedback, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and readily accessible.
  • Present quality performance data to management and customers as required.
  • Support the wider team with investigations of non-conformances and developing preventive actions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer in Aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent IT skill to ensure accurate recording of inspection results.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conversant with NADCAP standards and special processes, and auditing to AS9100/CAA Part 21 (G) standards would be desirable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to detail and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to use own initiative.

Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week on a day shift over 4.5 days (early finish on a Friday).
