International Tax Manager

The International Tax Manager role at IFS is a critical position that requires a seasoned professional to lead our global tax activities and ensure compliance with tax regulations. This role involves managing our international tax reporting, compliance, transfer pricing, and supporting our tax planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee our international tax activities, ensuring timely filing of tax returns by local entities.
- Lead the reporting of income taxes in our consolidated group financing statements, including managing the quarterly and year-end provision process.
- Develop and maintain efficient processes and controls, including implementing software solutions to facilitate reporting of income taxes.
- Set and manage transfer pricing policies, operations, and documentation, supporting the creation of and transition to an offshore Centre of Excellence (CoE).
- Partner with the business and support stakeholders through business changes, identifying tax implications and solutions across all areas of international tax.
- Support the International Tax Director in tax planning and structuring.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, coordinating scopes of work, fees, and project coordination.
- Manage and forecast our effective tax rate and cash taxes across the Group.
- Support the International Tax Director in assessing the tax risks arising from M&A target organizations, including due diligence, structuring, and integration.
- Manage, support, and advise local teams in dealings with the local tax authorities, including local tax audits.
- Support the Global Tax Accountant and CoE team in fulfilling their roles.
- Support the International Legal Entity Reduction (LER) programme.
- Ability to flex style and deliver in a fast-paced, transformational environment, driving change and continuous improvement with a positive attitude and critical mindset.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and capable of managing numerous work streams at once.
- Ability to problem-solve, think analytically, and proactively drive solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration, sharing knowledge and ideas.
- Ability to build and develop strong internal/external relationships.
- Must be a confident and effective communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- Must be organized with an attention to detail.
- Professional certification (ideally ACA and/or CTA), with at least 4 years PQE.
- Comprehensive understanding and hands-on application of tax accounting under IAS12 in the context of large consolidated financial statements.
- Established career in corporate income tax working in or with large multinational companies, covering both tax compliance and tax planning.
- Good working knowledge of Transfer Pricing.
- Experience managing people.
- Bachelor's Degree (2:1 or equivalent).
- Experience in a big 4 public accounting firm.
- Experience working in an in-house tax team.
- Software/SaaS industry experience.
- Practical experience of Transfer Pricing policies, operations, and documentation.
- Experience of tax transformation and/or technology solutions.
