Job Title: Junior Laboratory Technician

Müller UK & Ireland is a leading dairy company with a strong commitment to quality and safety. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Laboratory Technician to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Shift Leader in driving '24/7 Compliance' and resolving ongoing quality issues.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine product testing in the laboratory.
  • Perform general laboratory duties, including cleaning, preparing reagents, and cleaning glassware.
  • Support the instigation and execution of food safety and quality investigations.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records of work done and maintain all laboratory information and results.
  • Assist colleagues beyond your own role and ensure all calibrations and verifications are carried out according to the internal schedule.
  • Investigate non-conformances and spoilage issues, and conduct environmental monitoring within the laboratory and production areas.
  • Carry out and record site CCP checks and support the Shift QC Leader with driving Quality KPIs on shift.
  • Ensure CLAS compliance and cleanliness, and assist with internal audits and conduct testing.
  • Analyse lab data for trends and improvements, and participate in root cause analysis and suggest improvements.
Key Requirements:
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Pro-active approach to continued professional development of self.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Food industry experience is desirable, as is previous laboratory experience and a scientific qualification or background.
