Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at Willcox Matthews.

As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Observe and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
  2. Carry out Planned and Preventative maintenance to agreed schedules.
  3. Diagnose faults and test, repair, and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment.
  4. Record work carried out in appropriate documentation/data base (CMMS).
  5. Interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment.
  6. Previous experience of working with CMMS systems is desirable.
  7. Ensure effective handover of information across shifts.
  8. Contact OEMs and other suppliers for technical support as and when required.
  9. Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren't clear.
  10. Identify and implement improvements.
  11. Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques/RCA techniques through to 100-year fix.
  12. Use and support departmental 5S programmes for workshops and stores.
  13. Use CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives.
  14. Complete all records and paperwork for specific work legibly and accurately.
