Role Overview

The North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU) is seeking an experienced Intelligence Development Officer to join their team. As an Intelligence Development Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the MARSOC programme, which aims to identify and disrupt high-harm Serious Organised Crime (SOC) nominals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intelligence research on high-threat individuals and problems, identifying intelligence gaps and setting requirements.
  • Collect, analyse, and de-conflict intelligence, creating case files and subject profiles, and providing feedback on MARSOC nominations.
  • Support live operations with real-time information evaluation, manage and update intelligence, and utilize ANPR for live enquiries.
  • Work with ROCU, Police systems, and the HMPPS Regional Intelligence Unit to enhance intelligence pictures and maintain sources.
  • Write and manage applications for Directed Surveillance Authority, support analytical functions with open-source research, and participate in tactical planning meetings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to have a good understanding of intelligence gathering and analysis, as well as experience of working with Police systems and HMPPS Regional Intelligence Unit.
