SEN Teaching Support Professional

About the Role
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in the UK. As a key member of the school team, you will provide individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), disabilities, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, promoting their academic and social development.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to teaching staff.
- Work closely with parents, specialists, and educational professionals to develop effective learning strategies.
- Up/hold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection in all interactions with students.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, disabilities, SEMH, and SEND.
- A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students and staff effectively.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
