Social Value and Diversity Coordinator
Murphy is seeking a highly skilled Social Value and Diversity Coordinator to join our award-winning Energy team on the SSE ASTI project in Alness, Scotland.
As a Social Value and Diversity Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing supply chain relationships to ensure diversity within the supply chain workforce increases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing supply chain relationships to ensure diversity within the supply chain workforce increases.
- Managing the training of the immediate workforce and supply chain in the completion of their EDI training.
- Ensuring that the supply chain meet on a quarterly basis to share good practice, discuss new initiatives, and commit to tackling underrepresentation within their organisations.
- Driving forward EDI initiatives within the supply chain and workforce that increase diversity and promote an inclusive culture.
- Writing clauses for supply chain contracts and committing perspective supply chain to the EDI commitments and support parent company activities.
- Working collaboratively with HR and parent companies to ensure blind sifting takes place and that unconscious bias is removed from the hiring process.
- Managing diversity surveys across the workforce and supply chain biannually and compiling a diversity report for the leadership team and client.
- Ensuring suppliers are ethical through submission of their policies and procedures directly to the EDI Representative.
- Working with the Skills, Education and Employment teams, HR and community engagement teams to ensure opportunities and engagement is targeted to a) those communities impacted by the project and b) those that communities and people that live within distance of project activity.
- Keeping all stakeholders informed about the scheme and especially any activities that may affect the public.
- Setting up exhibitions, arranging meetings and site visits, producing newsletters, leaflets and signage.
- Setting up and maintaining a public helpline to respond to all queries and setting up complaints log.
- Working with local schools, offering safety talks and helping with construction-related school projects.
- Giving presentations to professional bodies and being able to respond to vigorous questioning.
- Ensuring that good working relationships are developed and maintained with all neighbours and interested parties by regular liaison with local authorities, local residents' groups etc.
- Identifying the main concerns of the public and ensuring they are addressed through open dialogue and consulting with the local communities to explain and promote the project plans, their benefits and implications together.
