Job Title: A&E Doctor

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of our Occupational Health and Well-being Service, working closely with clients to deliver high-quality occupational health services. This role involves interacting with clients, providing clinical leadership, and supporting the development of our service provision.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide clinical leadership and support to our Occupational Health Advisors and Technicians.
  2. Manage complex case work, including dealing with escalated cases from our Occupational Health Advisors and Technicians.
  3. Assess the fitness of workers for specific tasks, ensuring a satisfactory fit between person and job, and recommending suitable adjustments to enable workers to perform their tasks safely and effectively.
  4. Monitor the health of workers who are potentially exposed to hazards at work through health surveillance programmes.
  5. Investigate, manage, and report individual cases of occupational injuries and illness, and establish if there is wider incidence.
  6. Manage immunisation programmes for workplace biological hazards and for business travellers.
  7. Work with employers to promote best practice in physical and mental health in the workplace to help prevent sick leave.
  8. Visit workplaces and advise on the provision of safe and healthy conditions by informed scientific assessment of the physical and psychological aspects of the working environment.
  9. Case manage workers who are on sick leave, working with other health professionals to ensure the earliest return of functional capacity and return to work.
Requirements:
  1. Hold a valid GMC Registration.
  2. Ideally be a Fellow or Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (F/MFOM), however a recognised post graduate qualification in Occupational Medicine or Health will be considered.
  3. Experience working within an Occupational Health role in public and private sectors.
  4. Experience dealing with complex case management and providing advice in relation to work on health and health on work.
  5. Possess good clinical diagnostic skills and understand the appropriate treatment practices.
  6. Knowledge of HSE and DWP guidance on fitness for work and safety at work.
  7. Ability to carry out health screening.
  8. Working understanding of relevant employment law in an occupational health context.
  9. Excellent communication skills.
  10. Have good people skills and the ability to build relationships with our clients and their employees.
  11. Be self-confident and well organised in their daily workings.
