Early Years Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Early Years Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Nursery.
About the RoleThis is a part-time position, working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, supporting the Chef in food preparation, and ensuring the well-being and safety of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook healthy meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and food safety guidelines.
- Assist the Chef in kitchen duties, including food preparation, cleaning, and stock management.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and safe, adhering to internal and external requirements.
- Support the Chef in managing kitchen budgets and stock levels.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and safe environment.
- Previous experience in a kitchen role, preferably in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post.
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
